Thanks Alex,

But look, one earlier message I got of this kind the sender had signed the message with a "name" and that name was actually own password combination, so it is obvious that the sender even can get in to my account and read my e-mails and not only send mail with my identity. That is so serious so I suggest that Hotmail urgently and as an emergency act for a solution.
The person who is doing this also wanna tell us that they have the skills to make this fraudulent breakin, if not they would not send a mail to the owner of the original mail-account owner and certainly not giving this hint of putting in ones own password as a signature. You know what I mean?
If it happens here it clearly happen on a large scale with other accounts, not only my e-mail accounts. I hope, Hotmail shall understand that.
Thanks again for you attention.

Sincerely
Ture Sjolander

Hello Ture,

Thank you for writing to Windows Live Hotmail Customer Support. This is Alexander and I am responding to your issue regarding the e-mail you received that appears to be originated from your own e-mail address. I can imagine the inconvenience this may have caused you. I will be assisting you on this.

We appreciate the time you took to report the problem to us. We have received reports from a subset of our customers who are also experiencing the problem you have described. We would like to assure you that your account has not been accessed by someone you do not know and the message was not really sent from your account.

Most likely, the message headers have been forged to make the message appear to have been sent from your account even if it was not. Our product development team is aware of the problem and they are currently looking for a way to resolve it. We do not have a time frame on when it would be completely resolved but I assure you that we are taking this issue seriously and with utmost priority.

As a workaround, you can create a custom filter to avoid receiving these types of messages in your Inbox.  Please follow the steps below:

1.   Sign in to your Windows Live Hotmail account.

2.   Click on "Options" then select "More Options."

3.   Click on "Automatically sort e-mail into folders."

4.   Click "New filter."

5.   Under step 1: Which messages are you looking for?

6.   From the first drop-down box select "From Name."

7.   From the second drop-down list, choose "Contains."

8.   In the third text box, type the name displayed beside the e-mail address.

9.   Under "Step 2: Where do you want to put these messages?" Select a folder to which you want your messages delivered. You can also choose to delete incoming messages.

10. Click "Save" to save your settings.

You can add more filters to increase the Custom Filter's effectiveness. Type a different word in the text box (step 8) so that unsolicited e-mail with various subjects will be captured.

We appreciate your continued support as we strive to provide you with the highest quality service available. Thank you for using Windows Live Hotmail.

Sincerely,

Alexander
